I randomly re-ordered the collection of pieces I’ve created from the playhouse class fragments.. six so far, gently edited, heavily overdubbed… some energetically rockish others more like alternative pastoral landscapes… then turned an oblique strategies card, that said something like
work inside and outside
well, not quite that, but that is what I took from it… does this mean another CD project (if there is inside the music work and then ‘out there’ work)? That’s been a running debate — why am I doing this particularly obscure set of sounds?
The new order is naturally from the light to the dark… so far.
Actually, that’s not true. It looked that way when I saw the new order. Playback was different.
It is interesting how setting one piece against another changes moods… the final piece now seems to be an elegy whereas when it sat in the middle it was a journey to somewhere.
Incidentally, none of the tracks have been named except for Requiem, or given mixes that could be construed as
final
so they really are free to establish their own emotional position.
