Here’s a reasonably sensible article

on the fiasco, meaning, the public reaction to the, err, ‘affair’.

also, reminder, some twenty years ago there was one of those little ‘controversies’ about authenticity and authorship (meaning who gets the money) that regularly erupt in the populist end of the music biz, when it emerged that the singer of I’ve Got The Power was not in fact the lissome twenty something bouncing in the video, but a rather heavy set older woman, of the type more often found in the Gospel Choir….

so, I agree with the article, that the ugly thing is the reaction, and also submit that it really isn’t a very new, umm, event… the only surprise, to me, is the furore in the media, and indeed social networking demi-monde…

Now, if only I can find the TOTP footage of Marc Bolan miming with the guitar cord up his arse rather than connected to his amplifier…

and if I have missed something, sorry, it’s true I nodded off in the back, and I don’t watch those talent/idol shows anyway…..
