Also, this looks like an impressive piece of kit — the new Korg Wave Drum
I can quote myself:
I’m genuinely excited by the impending new Wave Drum announced at AES. It’s just the kind of futuristic but tactile and responsive instrument that a player (as opposed to programmer) needs to offer a personal stylistic imprint in this digital music world.
One of my regular solo gigs is accompanying dancers with improvised music at the Neighborhood Playhouse Theatre; there I use a Korg R3 and at present a Roland Handsonic 15 as well as Steinway Grand Piano, plus a couple of delay pedals…. The new Wave Drum, I suspect, would be an ideal tool in this situation, augmenting or possibly supplanting the Handsonic.
...where and how can I get my hands on Wavedrum, either as a loan (review/beta instrument?) or own one for myself? I would love to put one through it’s paces in a working environment as soon as possible.
The word at AES was December/January and under 600 US, we’ll see….
Last but not least, I redid the Twitter page.
